It’s been in the forefront of the national conversation this past two weeks for many reasons. Strong emotions flowed freely through the streets. Sadness, passion, anger, compassion, and love.
This set of images comes from events that transpired in Baltimore on Monday the 27th and Wednesday the 29th. They go from the funeral of Freddie Gray and riots that erupted afterwards on Monday to thousands of college and high school students marching peacefully through the streets and the 10pm city wide curfew going into effect without incident.
Some may say there is a lot of violence in these images and I won’t deny that but I also don’t want to purely focus on that. I wish I could have been there on Tuesday to capture the community coming together to clean up but I was not there. I had to go to an urgent care doctor and spend the day recovering because on Monday I was struck by a rock larger than my fist in the shoulder that left a baseball size deep bruise that left me unable to lift my arm very far.
